Alstroemeria (also known as Peruvian lily) in warm autumn colors, part of a flower arrangement isolated and processed with several masked texture layers. (Olympus E-510 & Zuiko 50mm macro, f/5.0, 1/160 sec., ISO 400, open shade, handheld.) Textures are from Leslie Nicole’s French Kiss Textures (Clair Obscur, Bibliotheque and Netherlandish) and Jerry Jones’ Shadowhouse Creations (You’d be surprised).

    Gorgeous rich work. Beautifully done.

  • Thank you, Joy! I’m so glad you like it, as I enjoyed the way this seemed to take its own direction as I tried out various textures with it.

Love the soft golden side lighting in this work….:)

  • Thanks very much for the great comment and fave, Thomas! A bit of late afternoon sun bouncing off a stucco wall on my balcony provided that light. :)

Love the colour and that beautiful lighting. Excellent work, Celeste.

  • Thank you very much, Ralph! I teased the lighting out (along with a few other things) with the use of textures, which helped me emphasize what I wanted to play up (the original was very busy and cluttered with no lighting differential between foreground and background).

How can such a warm lady be so mysterious!?

  • Bette, thank you for the delightful comment! The mystery comes from the chiaroscuro effects created from the texture layers. :)

Such a dramatic image and the light is wonderful. Your use of the textures has created an image that really glows . . .lovely . . .x

  • Thanks very much, Teresa! Textures made a huge difference in this one.
