This is darling Chloe in 2003 on her first day in her new home with me, where she stayed in the bathroom for her first night to keep her separate from my adult cat (who unfortunately died later that year). Chloe was about nine weeks old, had been found on the street and was taken to a rescue organization from which I adopted her. I thought she was adorable when I saw her with the other kittens in a cage, and one of the attendants offered to let me hold her. Chloe immediately climbed from my arms to my shoulder, where she sat and purred in my ear, thus capturing my heart and ensuring her a forever home with me. To this day she is one of the best and smartest cats I’ve ever known. (This is a point-and-shoot capture, nothing fancy, uploaded for a challenge.)

Awww Beautiful. It’s wonderful how animals know who will love them and care for them. We have a cat called Ralph. He was a stray that lived in our back garden for a while before we took him in. Now its like he is the master. ha ha ha

  • I understand perfectly, as Chloe is mistress here (sharing space with two other rescued cats). :) She gets her way always, and yet she is never a pain about it. Thanks so much for your sweet comment, Joy!

Love this photo. A precious little kitten!

  • Thank you, Sandra! Chloe was indeed precious as a kitten and is a wise and wonderful senior cat today at age nine.

I once had to teach a dog to chase cats! :-)

  • Many dogs and cats get along quite well, contrary to popular belief.

  • Thank you, Kristi! She is a love – and is right now looking for attention by pawing at my elbow. :)

What a wee sweetheart, Celeste. She is one very lucky little girl to have found her home with you.

  • Thanks very much, Bev. That luck goes both ways, as she is a wonderful pet.
