This sulphur-crested cockatoo is one of the fabulous wild birds who visit my sister’s place near Brisbane, Australia. It is so wonderful to see a beautiful bird like this flying free and not in a cage! (Olympus E-300 & Zuiko 40-150mm zoom at 150mm, f/5.6, 1/800 sec., ISO 100, early morning sun, handheld)

Oh wow, how gorgeous this is, Celeste!!! Not often you see this kind of bird just flying free!! And what a beauty he is!!
Thanks very much, Laurie! These birds are native to Queensland, Australia (along with some other beautiful birds), so they are a fairly common sight there.

Great shot and such beautiful light. Love the pose too. The cocky must have been fairly tame for you to shoot it at 150 focal length.
Thanks for the great comment, Ralph! The bird was not as close as he appears, as I cropped this shot for better composition than I could manage with that lens (the longest I had at the time).
