For a group challenge, I needed to transform a flower image via some kind of manipulation. Since passion flowers already have a certain strangeness about them, I thought one of them would make a good subject. I had lots of fun! This image contains five manipulated layers with various blending modes and opacities applied in Photoshop, starting with a desaturated layer with a gradient map applied and including a couple of tweaks in Topaz Adjust (a color negative layer and one with a dayglow effect). I am also posting the original image (see below) for comparison. (Olympus E-510 & Zuiko 35mm macro, f/8, 1/125 sec., ISO 200, afternoon sun, handheld.)
