Many varieties of jellies are on display at the Aquarium of the Pacific (Long Beach, California, USA), and none are easy photographic subjects thanks to the complications of low light, reflections on tank surfaces, and creature movement. Of course none of that deters me from stopping at every tank on every visit and trying yet again. I had pretty good luck on this visit with the North Pacific sea nettles, of which this is one of my better captures. (Uncropped image processed in Imagenomic Noiseware, slight exposure adjustment and a bit of sharpening in Topaz Detail.) this is one awesome capture Celeste, very well done, I am totally amazed at the colour of this jellyfish !
You are so quick, Annette, thank you for the great comment and fave! The color has a lot to do with the tank lighting, and a lot of it is luck when it comes to where the jellyfish is in the tank in relation to the light. I was firing away in burst mode and so have an entire series of this one jellyfish as it powered its way up though the tank. They are amazing creatures to behold.
