Morning glory inspiration by Celeste Mookherjee

Available to buy on…

I’m very fond of capturing macro images of morning glories, but sometimes I see a flower I like that it is too far away for my macro lens to capture. This is an example, when I switched to a zoom lens to capture a flower above my head with sky and a bit of distant foliage as its soft background. As for the quote, Maya Angelou is a favorite of mine among modern poets, for her voice is wise and timeless. (Olympus E-510 & Zuiko 70-300mm zoom at 226mm [452mm equivalent in full-frame 35mm], f/5.2, 1/1000 sec., ISO 100, early afternoon sun, handheld)

Fabulous image and words! Love it!

  • Thank you so much for the great comment and fave, Angie! I’m glad you like the quote as well as the photo. Maya Angelou is such a treasure! Do you know her poem, “Phenomenal Woman”? It applies to you, and I think, all of us women artists. :)

Great angle and beautifully done. I love the glow at the base of the flower.

  • Thank you, Joy! Morning glories have the most wonderful ability to transform light and take it into themselves and then send it out as if it is intrinsic to the flower.

Marvellous POV and colour. The flower has a sculptural quality the way you have depicted it. The quote set me thinking……….

  • Thanks very much, Bette! I think it’s the low angle that emphasizes the flower’s form.
