Delicate grace of a delphinium blossom by

In one section of the Shakespeare Garden at The Huntington Botanical Gardens in San Marino, California, is a wonderful array of delphiniums in a variety of colors (in bloom in early May). The flower stalks were so tall that I was able to capture macros like this one at eye level! (Olympus E-5 & Zuiko 50mm macro, f/11, 1/100 sec., ISO 500, cloudy)

Oh this is just gorgeous. Love it. The center is expecially interesting.

  • Thanks very much, Sandra! I agree about the centers. I also photographed some that were a very deep blue with dark centers – quite fascinating!

flower with feathers, and these colors straight from heaven, I like that you gave it the delicate expression here Celeste to contain it’s gentle beauty! I always take a deeper breath when I look at your flowers, I’m inhaling beauty, lol!

  • Thank you, Angelika! I like that – flower with feathers, quite apt. :)
