This is a pink-flowering currant, a beautiful and relatively drought-tolerant California native that does especially well in Southern California. The powdery blue-black berries are attractive to many birds. To humans they are reported to be edible but bland (and not the same as black currants, Ribes nigrum). (Olympus E-5 & Zuiko 50mm macro, f/8, 1/125 sec., ISO 640, overcast, handheld) Texture (“Rosy French Script”) from Leslie Nicole’s French Kiss Textures.
