Although it was a sunny morning, some of my favorite Icelandic poppies were in shade. The background behind this poppy is the far edge of the flower bed, with the various colors of poppies in the sun turning to cheerful color patches. I added textures to the background to bring out the richness of the colors and tone the brightness down just a little. (Olympus E-5 & Zuiko 70-300mm zoom at 239mm, f/11, 1/250 sec., ISO 640, open shade, handheld) I used two texture layers: “Brasserie” and “Craquelure Venice” from Leslie Nicole’s French Kiss Textures.
