A Japanese star magnolia at the moment when the bud first opens to the stage of new bloom. The quotation from Anaïs Nin seemed meant for this flower, even though her words were symbolic rather than literal. (Olympus E-5 & Zuiko 50mm macro, f/8, 1/125 sec., ISO 200, open shade, handheld) Texture (“Awaken”) courtesy of Kim Klassen Café.

Now you are enjoying finding the right quotations? This is a very tender picture,Celeste.

  • Hi Bette! I have a whole file full of favorite quotations, just in case an image strikes a certain chord that harmonizes with a quotation I like. I’m also mindful of potential card designs, as I have cards in a few local gift shops. One woman with a flower and gift shop likes flower interpretations that are sensuous, and I’m sure she will like this one. :) Thanks as always for your meaningful comments!

So lovely, Celeste, with that gorgeous color and those words…so fitting…and, once again, your precise focus on that bud just draws the eye…beautifully taken…!

  • Thanks very much for your lovely comment, Katherine! This opening flower was just so graceful that I was immediately taken with it.
