I was on a bit of a crusade to find and photograph some antique fixtures and was not having much luck until I visited B&B Hardware {Long Beach, California), which specializes in items for historic home restoration. I became fascinated with a bin full of glass doorknobs (childhood reminiscences of my grandmother’s house) and was fortunate that the shop owners were happy to let me take as many photos as I wished. (Olympus E-5 & Zuiko 50mm macro, f/5, 1/25 sec., ISO 1600, mixed incandescent and daylight, handheld) Texture from Leslie Nicole’s French Kiss Textures

Beautiful image Celeste….Almost surreal looking in the POV and lighting…..

  • Thanks very much, Thomas! There was incandescent room light plus outdoor light through a window, and all of that was bouncing around in the faceted glass of this doorknob and the others around it. Surreal is a good word for it. :)

I have these glass door knobs all over my house and tried to capture a good look with my 300 mm lens, but sadly no joy….Will keep trying though…..
