This image of a dewy butterfly iris (aka African iris, Cape iris, fortnight lily) was recovered from a failed memory card — an image I thought was gone forever (along with 39 others) until an online friend suggested that I try FileSalvage (Mac-only, Subrosasoft), which recovered all lost files! I mention it just in case it may be of help to someone else. The flower is a common sight for many months of the year in Southern California. (Olympus E-5 & Zuiko 50mm macro, f/6.3, 1/160 sec., ISO 200, overcast, handheld) I used three textures from Leslie Nicole’s French Kiss Textures.
