Holiday stars light-play by Celeste Mookherjee

This is a composite image created from parts of outdoor holiday light displays. The large and small star elements came from one home’s yard display, and I zoomed during the exposures (a technique I call “light-play”) with my camera mounted on a monopod. I love light-play during the holiday season for its inherent unpredictability! (Olympus E-300 & Zuiko 14-45mm zoom, f/4.1, 1/2 sec., ISO 100, night, monopod)

Really nicely done, Celeste and very festive….this really has to be viewed larger to appreciate the detail and color…excellent presentation too!

  • Thanks, Katherine! By detail, I assume you mean the “star field” on black. I did lots of dabbing with a tiny brush. :)
