The dramatic dahlias are ending their season, and some manage to be beautiful even in their dying moments. This one made me think of Violetta’s voluminous skirts draped over a chaise during her final aria in La Traviata (at age nine, my first opera and a profoundly moving experience). (Olympus E-5 & Zuiko 50mm macro, f/8, 1/100 sec., ISO 1250, open shade, handheld) Post-processing/subtle painting effect with Topaz filters; textures courtesy of Shadowhouse Creations.
