I took advantage of the fact that a bunch of Harley riders had stopped for a beer break at a local bar known to be friendly to bikers and parked their splendid machines in front of the bar. The reflections on this perfectly polished black helmet were irresistible! (East Village Arts District, Long Beach, California) (Olympus E-5 & Zuiko 70-300mm zoom at 120mm, f/6.3, 1/250 sec., ISO 1250, open shade with late afternoon light bouncing around)

.. the fact that you were able to get those sharp and crisp reflections is amazing… Wow, what an example of outstanding and skillful photography..

  • Thanks very much, Katherine! Actually, the reflections are not difficult as they exist within the plane of focus of the side of the helmet. The softness of background elements contributes a lot to the sensation of sharpness in the helmet and reflections.

Totally fascinating, Celeste! It’s one in a million! I know MY helmet never looked this nice once it came off the dealership’s shelf!

  • Thanks, Dayonda! I don’t think I’ve ever seen one quite so perfect before. It was begging to be photographed. :)
