An autumn-colored dahlia photographed during a casual walk through the garden with a friend visiting from outside California. I was paying more attention to chatting than to photography, and so created the photo in light that was too bright (which I knew at the time, but the dahlia was too beautiful to ignore). I compensated for over-brightness with textures, which bring out the deep warmth of the colors.
