Dreaming of daisies by Celeste Mookherjee

“Photography is an investigation of both the outer and the inner worlds. The first experiences with the camera involve looking at the world beyond the lens, trusting the instrument will ‘capture’ something ‘seen.’ The terms ‘shoot’ and ‘take’ are not accidental; they represent an attitude of conquest and appropriation. Only when the photographer grows into perception and creative impulse does the term ‘make’ define a condition of empathy between the external and the internal events.” — Ansel Adams

Just daisies. The first flower I fell in love with as a child. (Olympus E-5 & Zuiko 70-300mm zoom at 252mm, f/6.3, 1/3200 sec., ISO 200, morning sun, handheld) Textures courtesy of Leslie Nicole’s French Kiss Textures

This is a gorgeous composition, Celeste. I love the light, the focus on the dominant flower and the gradual fade of the rest. It’s very pleasing.

  • Thank you, Maggie!

So beautiful, Celeste. That supporting player in the back ground is really trying hard to upstage the star….he almost does because your dof is just so pleasing to the eye… just delightful… I, too, like daisies.. they are just such a happy sort of flower that make you smile!

  • Thanks very much, Katherine!
