The white angel’s trumpets are a glorious sight when they are blooming at my local botanical garden, and one can smell their heady perfume upon entering their area. These are double blooms, a flower within a flower, and I held this one up with one hand while holding my camera in my other to capture the incredible beauty of the inner bloom lit from behind by the sun. You are looking straight into the bell of the trumpet and seeing the wonderfully delicate texture of the pale petals and the usually hidden inner mysteries of the flower. I could have three hands and still not have the steadiness you do with One Hand… really impressive work, Celeste. The light and the fragility of those petals is just so perfectly captured by you…it really does appear to be an inner sanctum of sorts.. and almost makes the viewer feeling like an intruder.. you have so conveyed that sense of privacy and beauty.
Thanks, Katherine. One-handed really wasn’t a big deal on this because my camera has image stabilization and my shutter speed was fast. Besides, it was the only way I could get the view I wanted, straight up into the trumpet.
