I mean this as a tribute to Georgia O’Keeffe, whose powerful art, especially her strong and sensuous flower work, is a major influence on my photographic sensibility. I am not comparing myself and my work to her and her artistry, merely acknowledging her inspiration.
I saw this magnolia blossom a week ago, on my way to my watercolor class, and made a mental note to stop and photograph it after class. My heart and head were in a good place to appreciate the simple beauty of this newly opened flower thanks to a great class, and so I share that moment with you.
