It was an overcast and rainy morning at my local botanical garden one Sunday, and I found some brand-new pink columbine blossoms in shade under a huge tree. I pre-visualized this as a textured image to further emphasize the pale beauty of the flower against the greens of the background. (Textures courtesy of Shadowhouse Creations)

So pretty, Celeste, in the thumbnail it appears like sharp pink arrows darting through a dark sky…beautiful soft color!

  • Thanks, Katherine! I was fortunate to find such a perfect little bloom.

A very elegant shot, Celeste. Nicely worked focus of light on the main part of the flower; against the dark background it appears to glow.

  • I’m glad you like it, Maggie. Thank you!

    This is so gorgeous, Celeste!!!

  • I’m so glad you like this, Laurie. It was literally my first good capture of a columbine, after trying many times and not doing so well on many different columbine flowers. The longer their spurs, the harder to get a good photo (I think).
