Ah, spring! We eagerly await its arrival, especially in the form of familiar seasonal flowers. In Long Beach, California, one of the most beautiful spring signs is the flowering peach – clouds of soft pink blossoms on trees planted on the California State University campus. (Photographed on March 30, 2014) Textures are from Leslie Nicole’s French Kiss Textures (Atelier “Soar,” Artiste “Dove Wings” & Classique “Pewter”). (Olympus E-5 & Zuiko 50mm macro, f/4.5, 1/1000 sec, ISO 200, afternoon sun, handheld) The title is the flower (not me) speaking to you. :)

Dedicated to the feelings of renewal and joy that are part of the arrival of spring!

What a lovely title! Beautiful shot combined with your inimitable processing!

  • Thank you very much, Bette. Sometimes a title comes out of the blue and just seems right. I’m happy you agree. :) The textures helped subdue the background elements a little more than just the softening from depth of focus.

  • Thanks very much, Carol! Like so many spring flowers, these don’t last very long but are such a joy while they are in bloom.

Hello beautiful, a fantastic blossom, and the texture adds much to the image Celeste … great title too !!!

  • Many thanks, Larry! I love all the flowering trees of spring, but there’s something special about the color and depth of these peach blossoms. I watch for them at the edge of the Cal State campus here every March. :)

Yes, I did! Beautiful reminder of my favorite season, Celeste!

  • Thank you, Lynn! Even though we don’t have the dramatic changes from winter to spring here in Southern California, I still find something special in this time of renewal.
