Artist's Description

These bells are part of Mission San Juan Capistrano, one of the best known of California’s 21 missions. This is the site of what is called “the miracle of the swallows.” The cliff swallows migrate from Argentina, arriving in March. Their arrival is celebrated on Saint Joseph’s Day, the 19th of March. (Olympus E-300 & Zuiko 35mm, f/9, 1/500 sec, ISO 100, late morning sun, handheld)
