While wandering through a local garden store’s outdoor displays, I came upon some glass gazing globes. Most were typical orbs of smooth glass, but one was irregularly cracked and appeared to be made in the style of stained glass with leading to hold the pieces together. Moving in close with a macro lens gave me a glassy abstract of irregular shapes with sunlight creating a bright spot. (Olympus E-510 & Zuiko 35mm macro, f/7.1, 1/400 sec, ISO 100, early afternoon sun, handheld)

As if I am walking on the arid desert floor, once kissed by the ocean’s sparkling blue waters… Traveling back in time to our distant past…
This shimmers with your magical lighting and macro crispness… Well composed abstract and a fave…

  • A most interesting interpretation, Susan. I like it – thank you!

A remarkable and beautiful abstract, Celeste.. the blue variations with the light spot create a wonderful wintry effect.. very pleasing to the eye !

  • Thanks very much, Joseph. My eye went straight to the irregular patterns when I saw the aqua-blue globe. :)
