This is how our downtown marina (Long Beach, California) appears on a foggy winter morning. (Can you hear the foghorns?) This is a full-color capture, but the heavy fog desaturates all but the bright canopies of blue and red on some of the boats. Notice the ghostlike outline of the Queen Mary in the background, on the far side of the entrance to Rainbow Harbor. (Olympus E-510 & Zuiko 40-150mm zoom at 40mm [80mm in full-frame 35mm equivalent], f/3.5, 1/4000 sec., ISO 100, late morning, handheld) Textures are from Leslie Nicole’s French Kiss Textures (Tableaux: Creme Fraiche, Iridescent, Northern, Windsong; Craquelure: Gallerie).
