My first mug sale!

I know I’m not the only one who gets excited by their first sale of a new RB product offering, so I had to share the news that an anonymous purchaser just bought a mug of my Serenity in pink waterlily design. All I know is that you are somewhere in Europe, as the sale was registered in Euros. :) Thank you, whoever you are, for making my day!

As you can see, this is a wraparound design.

Thank you to recent purchasers!

When I received one of those nice e-mails from Mr. Baxter late last night, I realized I’ve been remiss in thanking those who have recently purchased items from my portfolio. All were anonymous, so I can only say thank you in a general way. I appreciate every one of you!

1 poster (small) of Tall ship at anchor

Mugs look GREAT in person!

I received my sample mugs (I ordered two of the waterlily design). They are beautiful in person, with excellent clarity and color – high quality all the way. They arrive bubble-wrapped inside a small box printed with a Redbubble design – perfect for gift-giving.

I notice with great relief that RB has changed the mug preview on our images. The new preview doesn’t have that faded look that many of us objected to, and it’s a more 3D-like representation of the mug. Note the differences below.

My initial offerings as mugs

It took me more time and effort than I expected to come up with my first designs to fit the new Redbubble mug formats. I love the idea of making some of my work available on mugs and therefore was willing to spend some time, but RB made more than a few changes in specifications over the early part of the mug introduction. After a lot of trial and error, I believe I have the specifications figured out – I hope. :) I will add more, but these are my first six works adapted to the new mug formats.

As others have already noted, I find that the standard mug previews look a bit distorted and washed out. I ordered some samples and expect to soon have a more accurate idea of how our artwork translates to this particular group of products.

Thank you to Marilyn Cornwell & All Glorious Lilies

A very pleasant surprise was waiting for me today when I signed in to Redbubble. I had a Bmail from Marilyn Cornwell, host of All Glorious Lilies, telling me that I had been given a special feature to thank me for my contributions to the group. Marilyn and her co-host Carol (MotherNature) do a great job of making members feel welcome and valued, so I consider it a privilege to participate in such a wonderful group.

My feature page includes six of my lily photographs.

Thank you, Marilyn!

Gardens in Focus - Competition 4 Finalists

As I told you in a previous journal article, I was honored to have five of my photographs among the 100 Finalists in Competition 4, Gardens in Focus (Royal Botanical Garden, Sydney, Australia) and two of those five judged as Grand Finalists. The 100 Finalists were shown during the recent exhibition in a photo movie that has now been posted online (it’s the first movie at the top of the linked web page). If you like flowers and gardens, you are sure to enjoy the movie, which runs a little over 14 minutes.

Although I did not win any of the major prizes, I was delighted to learn that a most talented and accomplished fellow Redbubble photographer, Dianne English, was the overall first place winner with Centre of Attention, a beautifully detailed poppy macro shown below. The photo is lin…

Please welcome my sister to Redbubble

Some of you already know I have a sister (Marylou), and that she is also a photographer. Now you can see her work very easily because she has joined Redbubble and has been very busy adding to her portfolio here.

Marylou lives in Australia (near Brisbane) and is quite the world traveler, as you will see from her photos.

Please visit Marylou’s RB Profile and leave a comment or two to welcome her to the Redbubble community. Thanks!

P.S. I am still scarce on RB, as I am limited to using just my iPad until my new iMac arrives (due on Tuesday the 17th).
