View of Barcelona with two of the Sagrada Familia’s belltowers.
There is no describing aptly the magnitude of Gaudì’s work as a whole, and of the Sagrada Familia in particular as his masterpiece. This is a cathedral in the truest sense of the word, returning to the Gothic visions of ascendance, light interplay, in/out contrast, technical prowess, and most importantly of the church as a book to be read, but completely liberated of historical architectural forms that belonged to their time but not to ours.
