Permaculture Galore by

This garden was designed for Jiyugaku-en, an extraordinary school for children, where they grow and cook their own lunches, in the 70 year old kitchen, with its original wood-fired cauldrons.

There is a special secret about the architect of this school. I will tell you another time.

In this garden, water is caught and then runs slow and long, over the landscape.
There are keyhole beds, arranged into mandala gardens, with a rich amount of ‘edge’, the place things happen.
There are of course permaculture classics, the Herb spiral and flying fertizer hotels. Yes, dovecotes.
Nature has been persuaded to do all the value-adding, just where we want it.
For free.
Beauty is one of the harvests, food is another.
