In traceless sky above at night,
a pride of elementals lurk ready
eager to lay their feral power
upon the mountain steady.

Apparent to all inhabitants
who roam her stony bounds–
From within every thunder peal
The divine aria sounds.

All of nature swoons and bends
to return His loving gaze.
His are the hands that pull her close
and bind them in rapturous embrace.

Celestial ladders lift praising souls
In accord with inmost bent
Ever higher frail hearts ascend
as angel’s strength is lent.

As pinnacle is finally cleared
and passed through is the Gate
Enthroned within expectant light
The King and Kindler awaits.

Through the climbs entire strain
His behest, a sure ascent,
He steadied those who feared to fall
and rest to weary sent.

Once I aspired to find all origins
and know the furthest ends,
Yet never did one boundary rise,
nor did one begin.

Boundless is our Ever-King
and changeless as His eternity.
Of all He made are men alone
inscribed His effigy.
