Dunsandel Cemetery
Old South Road
Churchless
A testament
Headstones time worn
Resting place of toilers
” the real workers “
Mothers of many
Fathers of farmers
Son’s of son’s
Carefully carved
tales of time
Warm, sun touched
peaceful and still
Remembrance
This is a poem I wrote after my first and last visit to the old family resting place in Dunsandel, just South of Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand. My great grandparents are buried there.

you have a pretty nice way with words yourself. i like the way you image the lineage of the family. the compactness and economy of language is superb.
