I love to collect quotes from different artists. My favourite at the moment is

Cholina, congrats on the little guy, I’ve been busy but am now catching up on redbubble, I am adding some of the quotes which I paint by:-
“I don’t so much paint what I see, but I paint what I want others to see” Edgar Degas.
“You don’t become an artist, you are one” Pablo Picasso
“when painting outdoors, get yourself really comfortable, then look around for something to paint” John Singer-Sargent
""big brush, big strokes, don’t get bogged down in the detail" my mate Clark Barrett (Broken Hill art teacher)
I hope some of these get you inspired to start painting again….Michael Jones.

  • CDrewHughes:

Great quotes Micheal! I don’t get to Red Bubble much anymore either….. but I’m definately getting the desire to paint again! My husband and I rearrranged some of the paintings in our house and put up some new ones, and I’ve also recently seen “Masterpieces From Paris” exhibition at the National Gallery in Canberra and also went to GOMA and QLD Art Gallery a few weeks ago, so I’m all inspired and can’t wait to pick up a brush – now I just need the time….. Amelia keeps me busy, but she’s getting to an age now where she can keep herself amused for a little while as long as I’m near by, so I’m thinking I’m going to have to set up a play area for her in our studio – at least until she starts crawling…….
Hope you’re having a great Christmas and New Year!!!!! Cholena xxx
