Wild Frog Pond, for Jeffee ~ IT'S A WILD THANG!!! by

Jeffee………….
This is my wild frog pond, and as you can see the yellow water iris, or wild oris root have totally taken it over in just a matter of years :)) but as I said, its okay cause the frogs love it, and it gives them lots of protection.
Soon this will have thousands of yellow blooms, and thats when it is really pretty :)) but I would like to have a bit of veriety in it…..but it would take a buldozer, or a backhoe to remove these! They root clear to china…I just know it! LOL!
I have thousands of frogs to hatch from here each year, and they are very benifical to my gardens, and flowers.
So, as you can see its just a very wild frog pond, just off my little country driveway :))
Nothing really prim and proper about it LOL! It just fits in with all the wild, wild landscape of my forest :))

The Lotus below are on the one acre pond, and are spreading really nicely too, they are going to be really gorgeous this year :))
I am trying to get some lotus in the frog pond, but not sure they will stand a chance :))

How delightful, having the frogs there and all those gorgeous flowers to look forward to.. I love frogs. Where I grew up in New Zealand we were visited by our Golden Bell Frogs most mornings when we went outside. I have never forgotten the delights of childhood. You just brought it all back. Thank you.Regards, Hope.

  • Hope, so happy this bring back those good memories for you! I love the frog too, and there are soooooo many different kinds that live here, not to mentiong all the little puppy dogs, salamanders, dragonflies hatch from here too! LOL! Its a good habitat for all the little water loving creatures…..I even have several of the large garden spider that build their home here each year, and I always look for them LOL! Lots of good stuff for them to eat too, cause in the summertime the grasshoppers love it here in the reeds.. A wild wild little place :)) xx Carolyn

  • LOL!! Its a personal challenge for the dogs to walk that old log :)) Mother nature dropped it there, and lets face it I am not doing the mud to remove it! hahaha! Its wild, and wild it shall stay :)) Makes a good hiding place, and who know what really lives under there :)) oh, and I must say all our dogs love to explore in this pond too :)) a play ground for many critters ….Thanks so much Maxy :)) Carolyn

Just naturally beautiful……….those greens are so vibrant and it must be a great place to spend time, even when the frogs aren’t around!

  • LOL! It does look very interesting in the wintertime too, when everything is sleeping :)) and you should hear the music that fills the countryside when all the frogs are singing to high heaven :))) What a very pleasing song :)) Carolyn
