thanks Gerry. It was a lucky break. The train was 4 hours late, so we were forced to camp on the platform. Though I look a lot of photos of the fascinating locals, they were equally entranced with us (especially my blond daughter aged 8 who they continually touched!). We attracted a great crowd of admirers.
I would love to visit India, The images from there are wonderful, as is this one My eldest son did a mountain survival course a few years ago, based in Darjeeling, he then crossed the country by rail back to Mombai
that sounds wonderful. India really is so easy. Friendly, endless options / colour / smells / photo ops. And they speak better english than most brits!
