Split Rock Lighthouse
This was taken in Split Rock State Park along the north shore of Lake Superior. This lighthouse was opened in 1910, and served the iron ore industry until it closed in 1969. It was key in helping captians of the US Steel bulk iron ore carrier fleet navigate some of the most dangerous pieces of water in the great lakes. It is now operated / administered by the Minnesota Historical Society.
This is a must see landmark if you are driving along the north shore of Lake Superior.

Lovely moody shot, you can’t beat nature at it’s best. Would be nice with a sunset behind the lighthouse too.
