One of the most frequently occuring sights throughout west africa is that of women collecting and carrying fresh water in large open topped bowls on their heads. An amazing skill of balance… they never seem to spill a drop despite the terrain over which they walk. This photo was taken at the Chutes de la Lobé (Lobé River Waterfalls) which empty directly into the sea – one of few such waterfalls in the world.
