Football & Slavery

Football & Slavery
( Watch the SuperBowl for Free Online )
By C.C. Arshagra

Football & slavery
We are not living on a human world
We are not the caretakers of the world
We fight in an arena of insignificance
We war over fire, fuel, and fears of freedoms denied
We form sides to divide and defeat each other
We cheer in the stadiums of lost worth searching; hoping

I love American football
It is a fine game and sport
Yet it is a tool that inspires to a joyous fault line
We live in the end zones of violence
On the grid iron of muscle, brawn, and bloody intellect
It is not a game for girls, and we do not understand the whole play

Act one; scene one; The score is zero to zero. Earth is losing
Guns and bombs and military murders rage on
The death is drowned out by the coin toss and kick off
We are not the stewards of her self-sustaining environment
We are owned by fears controlled
In hopes of winning a battle over the carnage of our civil sleep

We become captains of denial in our comfortable deafness
We are not as happy as we are waist high in inhumanity
We want to win the madness and we watch collecting hearts
And battling for minds of military reality, giving orders to the fans of war.
Play ball! But, we pay little attention to the owners of the players
The marketers of killers-for-hire love you for your teams’ money.

Arms are expensive. Nobody asks the human questions
There is too much bloody revenue at stake
Too much pride in egos winning; bragging rights; elite silence
The remote control is not really in your hands
But there is too much suffering to silence when the game is on
Buy a car that needs gas to fuel the profiteers of your hope

The sports section of the news is there to remind you to forget
The news is there to remind you to turn to the sports section
It is all in the play of your mental entertainment; consume.
Play the game that lets you sit and watch defeated freedom transpire
As we pay little attention to the owners of our view
The price is out of reach of our comprehension of slavery

The species we are is virtually comfortable at the top of a food chain
War is too ugly a truth to understand why & how it spawns us
The animal kingdom is safe in the audience of life
The scoreboard civilly pacifies the rule of the world
The president of the United States travels in a bulletproof bubble
Vote if you like, for your slavery’s safety depends on it

The insect kingdom is under control
The pesticide of fear prevents you from thinking
No thinking is freed. Cheer for your favorite pacifier
Live your consuming role in the garden of domination
Do not disturb God while the game is on
The icon of Patriots is undefeated this year

It is Super Bowl Sunday today
No one votes for the winner of this game
It is played out for you like a sporting event
The entire arsenal of players are paid for by the owners
Bought, sold, and paid for by the owners of the game
Just like in a real American election

The insect kingdom is not afraid to replace your domain
We are not living on a human world
We are not the caretakers of the world
We fight in an arena of insignificance
We war over fire, fuel, and fears of freedoms denied
We form sides to divide and defeat each other
We cheer in the stadiums of lost worth searching; hoping

There is a winner. Game over.
I love sports
It is so civilized
We have learned as a species to win without the loss of life
I love sportsmanship and fair play
The profits of inhumanity are winning.

You are not allowed to be human while the world is not at peace.
You cannot be born a human being with equal human rights here
You cannot live, eat, move, or die without paying for war’s reality
You need to produce the waist of something other than your self
All natural resources that sustain human life are owned
Football has nothing to do with slavery. Vote for your American idol

Now get out of my way the game is on

C.C. This is one of my favorites….it is very deep. Sally

  • Sally, I Love when people favorite a writing piece. And I know it should be true when it happens, so I thank you. I think a favorites in the writing category is a little harder to come by compared to an image. —mostly a time thing I guess. Still, at least one favorite always teaches me something about the value of really reaching at least one person. Can’t really ask for more than that.

This poem should be shouted from the rooftops in every country in the world … financiers and politicians should listen well … this is truth!

  • pijinlane, Thanks for believing in my work with such passion. And for commenting with detail, meaning and depth. I am so truly blessed by every comment you give. Did you click on the link at the end of the poem to LISTEN to it? Its a first here. Should I do it more?
