Infant and Human and Mortal Are We

Oh, to see the soul undying
In the fleeting decay of it all

As the child dead is not. And so we
Are driven deep-into-fear’s wonder

And heartache itself
Is a mystery of bitters

Yet the tastes of life are so
And so, we are to face its’ living deaths

Come to the funeral of we are all born here
Attend to lost lives,
which gives meaning
to our hands

Our missing
reasons
(lost and found)
Bye-bye to our needs to hold grief

The twist of storms
that sink our wrecked moorings
And bring to us days
and thanks for life passing

And so from the sockets
Of our skulls
Still aging;
Facing how human and mortal tides dry

A branch of hope comes
A touch of growth is

The leaves of a newborn time spring
So must we
