Please note that this is an unofficial design, with no challenge being made to the IP’s rightful owners. Please go and support “Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol” when it’s released in December 2011.

Starting in 1966, in the midst of the spy thriller era, one television series focused on a team of highly skilled operatives that was tasked with taking on corrupt government officials, evil organizations, and crime syndicates. Most notably led by team leader Jim Phelps for all but the initial season of the show’s run, “Mission: Impossible” became one of the better known series of its time and ran for seven seasons.

Fifteen years later, the series was resurrected, with Phelps returning to lead a new team of IMF agents, although this series ran for only two seasons.

But Mission: Impossible was not forgotten. In 1996, a movie version of the series was released, and spawned two sequels, with a third to be released in December 2011.

This version is my own interpretation of the IMF logo for 2011’s “Ghost Protocol” Upon seeing the complete logo, I felt certain elements could have been executed better (like the logo and some of the font choices), so I did just that for this, my personal interpretation of the 2011 IMF logo, changing a number of elements to make the design (in my opinion) work and flow better, like getting rid of the busy line-based grid in the background in exchange for a compass-based grid that uses less points, and using a streamlined globe, so the focus can be on the center of the logo.

Chris is a roguishly handsome and seemingly well-dressed defender of truth and justice that just happens to be a freelance web and graphic designer.
