Joes Silver Logo by

In 1982, Hasbro has a number of toy lines that were featured in concurrent animated series, most notably of them being the Transformers. One of the other series focused on GI Joe, a specialized military unit loosely based on the toy line from the 1960’s. As the narrator said at the beginning of every episode:

“G.I. Joe is the code name for America’s daring, highly-trained, Special Mission force. Its purpose: To defend human freedom against Cobra, a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world.”

In 2009, the first live action movie version of GI Joe, subtitled The Rise of Cobra, was released. But since the Joes didn’t have a singular logo of their own (unlike their counterpart, Cobra), one was created for them for the film.

I have recreated the logo and will offer it in four color variations. Two based in silver, and two in gold. I also added a little more area to the outer area, so as to focus on the inner logo, and allow for some beveling.

I’m also offering this shirt with the logo on the upper left side of the chest, so as to keep with a military look. I will also offer a version of the shirt with the statement from General Hawk in the film “When all else fails, we don’t.”
