Bearded Tit – Panurus biarmicus
This photo was taken at the RSPB site reserve called Rainham Marshes Purfleet, Essex, London, England.
This bearded tit was feeding on bulrushes whilst there was a cold snap. The male and female that were present devoted all their time in jumping from one reed to the next and pulling them apart before flying down on to the ice to eat. This concentration on feeding allowed me to be extremely close to these birds, even having to step back to take this shot.
Taken with a Canon 7d with a 100-400L series lens
