Christmas Beetle – Anoplognathus Inch Ant – Myrmecia
Taken in South East of South Australia.
These ants are fantastic collectors and, walking through the scrub next to my old house, you can see them dragging bees, grubs and many other items through it. They are great to watch and on this occasion the ant had traveled over a branch and the weight had obviously started to take its toll as it dragged it back to its nest.
