This photo was taken in the South East of South Australia.
When I was growing up, seeing one of these in the south east it was considered a good sighting. However, when I recently went home, these little fellas would eat off my front lawn during the night and then rest up in the scrub block across the road during the day. I would find flattened areas throughout the scrub, where the swamp wallabies had spent the day sleeping, while looking for wildlife. Two swamp wallabies had taken up residence in this block and would bound away with great loud thumps if I got too close to them, interrupting their midday siesta. Gradually they became more accepting of me, allowing me to get this profile shot of one of them.
