Bull Finch – Pyrrhula pyrrhula
Cragside, Rothbury, Northumberland, England.
This photo was taken from a hide inside the National Trust property Cragside.
Up until this day I had never seen a bull finch but as I stepped into the hide 16 greeted me on the branches in front. I could not believe my luck, The feeders that surrounded the hide held an abundance of birds and woodpeckers, siskins and nuthatches frequented the spot. A red squirrel and a few wood mice also came up to visit whilst in the hide.
