This is the image of an M249 squad automatic weapon or SAW. A lightweight machine gun that I carried during the first half of my deployment in Southeast Asia. It isn’t a very good photograph but I uploaded for others to see.

A photographer who was born in a coal chute; to a mother who was literally squatting over it, in rural West Virginia. He managed to stave off black lung while splitting firewood in the backwoods of Kentucky for a four fingered accountant and Veteran of WWII. After dodging improvised explosive devices and periodic mortar/small arms fire in a far away land; he now whiles away his time digging in the Colorado dirt, occasionally finding the strength to raise his lazy hand to snap a picture or two.

  • Thanks Michael for your nice comment, but thank you more for your service my brother. Cheers.
