Overwatch
Members from the 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, from Ft. Wainwright, Alaska, talk in between taking shifts in a local Iraqi’s house outside of Mosul, in an attempt to find insurgents lurking in a neighborhood known for terrorist activities. These types of patrols made the streets safer for not only the Iraqi people, but for our soldiers.

I really like the normality, of this one, just a couple of blokes having a chat….

i am in two minds about this photo, i like the way plain scruffy wall, little picture and old couch show the conditions that these boys ‘relax’ in. i just wonder where they have come from, what they have just seen, must be hard to ever switch off from it…...

Thanks you guys. I appreciate how differently people can see a single photograph which is one of the reasons I love RedBubble so much. So many unique perspectives. Rebs it is ironic you mention that because these men were under quite duress mot long before.

They should be at home , not over in Mosul. I bet the boys think that now as well once they got through the brainwashing.
