Backcountry Solitude
Drinking a cup of coffee first thing in the morning to jump start the day. Self portrait in front of the Sportsman Lake Patrol Cabin with Sportsman’s Peak prominent in the background. This cabin is just a bit over 20 years old, the original one that dated back probably to the early 1900s fell victim to the 1988 fires that ended up burning almost half of Yellowstone National Park.

You are living my husband’s dream! Great photo & documentation; not something many of us get to experience anymore. So glad there are places like this left in America.

Well I think it’s a dream as well, I often find myself covered in bruises, because the pinching is necessary to communicate the likelihood of reality. This wonderful place is almost 12 miles off the beaten path, and on this long weekend, not a soul to be seen!
