Lady of the Night

I walk the city streets by day paying no attention to all that is around me. I walk past people from the many walks of life. There are those hurrying about usually wearing a uniform of sorts whether it be couriers’ dress or a business suit. Others that are at their remedial daily jobs lumbering around at a mundane but socio-economically needed job. As I observe them about their daily tasks I realize that one possibly none of these people have found their angel. The one person in existence who can make them fly; knowing that you’re their angel too. I thought I was happy working my high-income job, where I have little to no worries. I went where I wanted to go, bought what I wanted to buy, and socialized with whom I wanted to socialize. Then one night I saw her. She is like an angel, she is my angel. We went outside and walked the streets together until the sun came up. Just before the sun reared its head above the horizon, she said that she had to leave. I protested because I didn’t have any way to contact her. She said do not worry, I am lady of the night, I will find you. I was day dreaming about her the next night when she appeared at my house. I opened the door, she immediately walked in embraced me and buried her face in my neck as she whispered in my ear, “I missed you.” I felt such bliss in her arms. I returned the affection in kind and said, “I missed you too, I’ve been thinking about you all day.” She looked up at me with her beautiful roguish smile and said, “I have a little present for you, ” as she ran her fingers through my hair. She suddenly pulled me close and kissed me. The next thing I know we were in the night sky, for some reason I wasn’t afraid of falling, not in her arms. She smiled, then I said, “You’re my angel, you gave me these wings to soar the night with you.”
