An old cedar post is re-used as a home for leaf cutter bees. Holes are drilled for the homes of the solitary bees, which don’t mind living close to other leaf cutters but don’t work together. These native bees of the U.S. Midwest are important pollinators. Gardeners place these drilled posts in their gardens. The bees don’t do much damage to leaves and petals. The edges look slightly lacey.
