Artist's Description

Bushranger Ned Kelly was one of scores of prisoners who passed through this door at the Old Melbourne Gaol in Melbourne, Australia, on his way to the gallows. Kelly was hanged in 1880. In 1978, thieves stole Kelly’s head, which has never been recovered.
