Ixchel Beach Bar in Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico. We spent some time there recently hanging out on the beach. The 2nd largest barrier reef is just off shore where the waves are breaking. PM is just 20 minutes south of Cancun airport.

who has the 1biggest barrier reef
Thanks- its a truly unspoiled beach in the Yucatan. The largest barrier reef in the world is the Great Barrier Reef in Australia- would love to visit there someday! The Carribbean is the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world and its awesome!

We’ve been here several times and it is just wonderful to sit with a cold drink and enjoy the view. My youngest likes to snorkel but my oldest is PADI certified so we go to various places in Mexico for him to scuba.
What a fantastically small world it is! Did your oldest scuba near Puerto Morelos? I’ve been to Akamal, Cozumel, Cancun and Belize- this was my first time in PM. I tried to scuba twice but my ear drums were damaged both times. Now I just snorkel and love it. We did a night snorkel on the reef- AMAZING!

u r so funny- yes I would love to go to Australia, it seems like it is wilder more diverse ecologically than any continent- I would love it! Wooo hoooo- what a long flight to get there from here though!

eewwww but you sit on a plane for 14 hours and when you land ,,everything is upside-down and there are yucky australians everywhere ewwwww

The ultimate beach shot … Corona should be interested. Just missing the bronzed bodies and the liquid amber. My idea of heaven.
Incidentally, the flight to Oz is a breeze. And the best little known reef there is Ningaloo Reef in a remote area of Western Australia.
Oh yes, it would make a nice Corona add! Thanks so much for your great comments/critiques and advice on how to get to Ningaloo Reef! I want to go! :D
