I am self taught and believe that I have a gift and must share it with the world. The interplay of light in nature is one of the earths most wonderful gifts and I try my best to capture that moment in time.

Wow…this is such a unique shot! Love it! Makes me want a loaf of crusty bread and some good wine to go with all those Mussels!! YUM!

  • Never been a fan of mussels myself, but we good get you some nice San Luis sourdough and some of Santa Ynez Valley’s finest wine! Then steam you up a pot and chow down :))

You will love them when I cook them, tender and tasty! Maybe we need to go collecting..now what’s the rules about shellfish and the months with "R"s??

  • From the Dept. of Fish & Game…“.The California Department of Health Services prohibits sport harvesting of mussels for food from May 1 to October 31. The viscera is where the toxins for paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP) tend to accumulate. Clams and scallops may be eaten during the quarantine period but the viscera should be discarded.”

Beautiful image & composition Cathy, especially given the time it was taken, who would have thought a line of mussels could look so good!

  • Wow! Thank you very much Garth! I appreciate that very much.
